The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say. J.R.R. Tolkien

Books, Movies and Whirly Ball

In going back over my last couple of blogs I realized that I have been remiss in listing books that I have read. And I was hoping to use this blog to keep track. I am so happy that I finally finished 'A Beautiful Mind'. This is the story of John Nash (mathematician that Russell Crowe played in the movie). It was interesting, but so difficult to read. I started reading it back in the middle of December and only finished it a couple of days ago. Not very well written from my point of view.

Before that I read a book of short stories called 'Lady Killer'. The problem was that I didn't realize it was a book of short stories at first. This caused mass confusion to my brain when I started reading the second story and the characters seemed completely different from the first chapter. Then I read the cover of the book: Lady Killer short stories. It helps if I know what I am getting myself into.

While on my trip I read the Steve Jobs biography 'The Second Coming of Steve Jobs'. This was a great read. It is the story of Steve Jobs after he was kicked out of Apple until his triumphant return back to Apple. It contains the story of Pixar. Very cool. I highly recommend it.

This weekend I went to see Brokeback Mountain and Capote (in my quest to see the Oscar nominated movies - except Munich, I really don't care). I loved Brokeback. Jake is so damn sexy! Philip Seymore Hoffman was excellent in Capote and now I can't wait to read 'In Cold Blood'.

On the Wednesday after I returned from my trip, our team had a team event. We went to Toronto to play 'Whirly Ball'. Oh my goodness, so much fun. It's kind of difficult to explain Whirly Ball. It involves bumper cars and attempting to throw a ball at a target. Our team came in 2nd place. Can't wait to go play again.
